Anterior Wall M.I. With Subtle ST Changes, Pt. M, ECG No. 1

Sat, 11/19/2011 - 15:49 -- Dawn
Anterior wall MI with subtle ST changes, STEMI

This ECG was taken from a vigorous and seemingly healthy 87 year old man who was brought to the hospital with a complaint of severe chest pain, radiating into his left shoulder and arm.  He was extremely anxious.  The EMS crew who transported him had a difference of opinion about whether this ECG constituted a STEMI Alert because the ST segments weren't very high.  Unfortunately, they ultimately brought him to a hospital without an interventional cath lab.  In the Emergency Department, treatment was begun, and plans were made to immediately transfer this gentleman to another hospital.   See ECG No. 2.
